May 4, 2026: Draft lottery countdown begins, Canucks wait on GM hire
The Countdown officially begins as all of Canucks nation readies for the NHL Draft Lottery tomorrow. Matt and Blake look "Canucks Luck" dead in the eye and wonder if this is the moment that the team finally gets its first ever number 1 overall draft pick. The GM search drags on for the Canucks with different names still being added while other are crossed off. The guys also debate the scope of the hirings and whether a new president may be a part of the spring hirings. David Quadrelli from Canucksarmy stops by for a discussion on the draft lottery and the special lottery show happening at Greta Bar. Quads and the guys talk about the many possibilities for the Canucks at the draft and how historic this level of player could be. They do a deep dive on Mckenna and Stenberg, noting that people have begun to talk themselves out of the two players at the top of the draft lists. Plus, the guys talk about the Canucks' process thus far in the GM search. Matt and Blake finish up with a look at the Caps getting a draw in LA, setting up the showdown in San Jose. They move onto baseball for an update on the C's, Jays and Mariners, plus, the Raptors are out of the NBA playoffs.
