Aug 4, 2026: Bump in the Britannia road en route to Canucks practice facility; and Arthur Griffiths riding to Caps rescue?

Matt and co-host Jeff Paterson discuss the Canucks practice facility already hitting a snag, the concerns of minor hockey groups and an alternative at the PNE. They also discuss former Canucks owner Arthur Griffiths' bid for the Whitecaps, which was reported over the long weekend. Plus, Canucks prospects at the World Junior Summer Showcase.


Whitecaps CEO Axel Schuster joins to discuss a 1-1 draw with LAFC before 40K at BC Place, Thomas Muller on form, Ryan Gauld finding it, replacements for Seb Berhalter and a setback for Ranko Veselinović. Schuster says 90 groups have kicked the clubs tires, that he does talk to Griffiths, that a new owner would have to be committed to the community and a timeline for action. He's also asked if the club is interested in buying BC Place.


Patrick Johnston of Postmedia stops by to defend his report of the Canucks slashing payroll after GM Ryan Johnson objected last week. He talks practice facility, the confusion about whether BC Place is for sale, and whether money is a problem for a Zeev Buium contract extension.
