The Extension

Episode 7 opens with a chat with producer Andrew Wadden, followed by the “Price is Right” where Blake wonders if the Thatcher Demko extension means Jim Benning’s job might be safer than some might think.

Kevin Woodley from NHL.com and In-Goal Magazine joins the show to discuss the Demko contract and who some of the comparable contracts around the league are. Woodley touches on Michael DiPietro and what this season has meant to the young prospects development, talks about how Braden Holtby’s age is hindering his range of motion, and wonders what Jacob Markstrom would be like if he played behind a good defence.

“Hashtags” - the best and worst of Twitter, makes its glorious return, where Matt gives Canucks longtime equipment manager Pat O’Neill a tip of the cap ahead of his 3000th game behind the bench.

Jeff Paterson drops in for his daily Canucks hit where J Pat gives his insight on the Demko deal, and how it plays into the teams future plans. The boys ask if Travis Green is tied to goaltender coach Ian Clark, and the interview wraps with a preview of the Canucks and Flames game tonight at Rogers Arena.

And finally, Wadden returns to play “Hot Take Wednesday”, where the boys rate and debate the best hot takes submitted from the audience.
