Sekeres & Price Show

A somber day in this business started the conversation after layoffs at Sportsnet 650. You’ll want to hear what Matt and Blake have to say about that.

The ‘Welcome Matt’ addresses what the Canucks could do with Hamonic cap space and 40&43 thoughts.

Joe Haggerty joined Matt and Blake to talk about everything that is going on in Boston right now. He started off though by asking about how is good friend, Jim Benning is doing. Thought it was surprising to see him lose his cool in the media the other day. Talked about the big Sunday nighter with Brady in town to go up against his former team. Says there are still people that hold allegiances to Brady. Joe talked about what the vibe change has been with the Patriots now with Brady gone. Talked about the Bruins prospect, Fabian Lysell and if he will be reassigned to the Vancouver Giants this year.

David Pagnotta of the Fourth Period joined the guys for the very latest on what he is hearing in regards to the Canucks. He understands that the Canucks haven’t made a determination on how they’ll reallocate the Hamonic money if he decides not to come back. Talked about vaccine rates among some players in American markets and how they will go about not playing in some Canadian cities.

Jeff Paterson joined the show for his regular spot and started off by talking about the layoffs at 650 and his thoughts on the matter. Talked about how impossible it is to overlook PP practices with the absence of 40&43. Talked about how Travis Green is feeling with all this extra noise about players that aren’t here. JPat talked about Luke Schenn and how much hockey he hasn’t played and how much trouble the Canucks could be in if he is looking at top 4 minutes. Talked about Travis Hamonic and which way he is leaning. Talked about what they might find on the waiver wire, which is basically a flea market, in which they could replace Hamonic. Would rather overpay their stars than elsewhere in the lineup.
