The host of Ray and Dregs and NHL Insider, Darren Dreger, joined Matt and Blake in his usual Wednesday slot. Talked about the lack of activity so far, ahead of the NHL trade deadline. Says that this is a different scenario for Rutherford. He usually plugs holes. It’s not that they don’t want to qualify for the playoffs but the needs of the Canucks go deeper than that. Everyone deeply wants to keep it competitive. They are less in buyer mode but patient-seller mode. Dregs knows that teams are calling on Motte but he also knows how valued he is in this organization. Talked about a deal between PIT and VAN. Talked about the future of Bruce Boudreau as a coach in Vancouver.

Our Canucks reporter, Jeff Paterson joined us in his regular slot. Started off by talking about Phil Kessel leaving after one shift vs Detroit to keep his iron man streak alive. JPat is ok with it for a one off to keep the streak alive. Talked about who he is most excited to see this home stand. Talked about Bruce meeting with all the players. Not uncommon these days. Not surprised that a guy like Bruce is making his way through the team. Says the Canucks need 11 points in this stretch to stay in it. There is 7 different broadcasts coming out of tonights game.
