June 9, 2025: Canucks in Calder Final! Lions and Whitecaps winning weekend too!

After a wild weekend of sport, there's so much to dive into for Matt and Blake today. The AHL Canucks win game 6 in Abby to advance to the Calder Cup final, so the guys break down the fabulous run, and what it means for players and coach alike. The guys also debate whether Manny Malhotra's performance behind the bench changes the perception of the NHL coaching hire. While the Stanley Cup final continues, NHL rumours abound, and the guys get into the myriad of possibilities for the Canucks, which may still include a deal around EP40. TSN's Darren Dreger stops by to gives us the latest on what he's hearing on the Bo Byram file, which seems destined to have a conclusion this month. Dregs also gets into a possible Thatcher Demko extension in Vancouver and on 2nd line centres that still have smoke around them. BC Lions head coach Buck Pierce stops by to give us his view of a season opening victory at BC Place. Buck talks about what it means to win his first ever CFL game as a HC, and what it means for the team to see Nathan Rourke at the top of his game early on. The guys wrap up the show going deep into the depleted Whitecaps' heroic win over Seattle, with a local boy making it happen. The Canadian mens team had an impressive win as well, golf's Canadian Open had a memorable finish, plus it was a French open finals weekend that may never be duplicated.
