A World Cup off day means a chance to breathe and look back on the tournament as a whole in Vancouver and beyond. Matt and Blake examine how the city and country has embraced the tournament and how it might change soccer in this country both on and off the pitch. The guys also delve a bit more into the local media storyline after this week's radio shutdowns. Plus, the offer sheets are coming due in the NHL! John Shannon is back on the show with a look at sports media in the digital age, not to mention network changes, and "The Toronto bias". John talks about what he learned from his chat with Caleb Malhotra, and how the World Cup has been unveiled as a tv show. Longtime sports reporter/anchor Jody Vance stops by to offer her takes on the state of sports media in the city, through the lense of where it came from back in the day. Jody also talks about the World Cup legacy, and the health of both the Whitecaps and the MLB bid. The guys finish up with a preview of the Whitecaps and Cavalry at Swangard, a look at the World Cup quarterfinals, and the Canadian run at Wimbledon is officially over.
