December 17 2021 - Connor Bedard (Canadian World Junior Forward), Rick Dhaliwal, David Alter (Maple Leafs Reporter), Gregg Bell (Seahawks Reporter)

Connor Bedard of the National Junior Team joined the show to talk about the upcoming World Jr Tourney. Talked about the plan through the next few days, including quarantine and a trip to Red Deer for some exhibition games. Is pretty special to be given this kind of trust at such a young age. Talked about the year in the WHL so far. Glad to have some familiar faces on the team. 

Rick Dhaliwal joined Blake and Jeff. Says the media can’t be too negative now that the team is on a 6 game winning streak. Brock Boeser has woken up.  Brought up a Jim Rutherford interview in Toronto and wondered why he isn’t talking to any local shows here. Loves listening to JR, he has a plan and surrounds himself with good people. Talked about the jersey being thrown on the ice. Rick loves what Stan brings to the organization. He knows the strengths and the weaknesses. JR doens’t need yes-men. Says the body language of this club has changed. These guys are having fun. Talked about Podkolzin. Loves being here and playing the game of hockey. He smiles and and laughs. He is a rink-rat.

David Alter, Leafs Beat reporter for the Hockey News joined us, live from his hotel room right here at the Wall Centre. Started off talking about the logistics for the Leafs through this Western road swing with the surging Covid outbreak. Talked about who from the Leafs is in protocol and the team activities that were impacted by it. Talked about Jason Spezza and all the extra work he is putting in after his suspension was reduced. Talked about Morgan Rielly. Says the contract means he has meant a lot to the team. Talked about the transition the organization made to make him feel like he is the number 1 dman on the team. Talked about potential additions that could come to the team. Says it depends on if injuries to big time players could allow them to go out and get a rental. Talked about some of the fringe players that have come in and made a difference. 

Gregg Bell, Seahawks beat reporter joined after the Seahawks game was pushed to Tuesday. He talked about how Covid has affected the NFL and what to expect. Talked about how much they need to win this game and how the game being pushed back has hurt that possibility.
