Sekeres & Price Show

Back in the blanket fort at the Sheraton Wall Centre and it’s the first show on a Canucks game night!

Goaltending is the topic du jour and the focus of the Welcome Matt, where Matt dives into the options the Canucks have with their goaltenders.

Kevin Woodley from InGoal Magazine and NHL.com joins to talk more about the goaltending, suggesting Braden Holtby’s underlying data was showing that his performance this season hasn’t been as bad as some might have thought.

Hashtags follows Woodley, where Blake puts the NHL in the cross hairs after the league released a tone deaf response to the guilty verdict of former police officer Derek Chauvin who murdered George Floyd sparking civil unrest around the world this past summer.

Tuesday Canucks insider Harman Dayal joins next and breaks down just how difficult it could be for Jim Benning to move Holtby in the offseason, suggesting that it’s not worth giving up significant picks or contracts to shed Holtby’s salary.

The Price is Right takes a look at the North Division and the oddities of how the division has played out so far this season.

Jeff Paterson joins for the first time on an actual Canucks game night and wonders who is going to step up and contribute with some goals outside of the usual suspects in Bo Horvat and Brock Boeser. J Pat also warns that despite an incredible performance from Holtby in the win on Sunday versus the Maple Leafs, the Canucks can’t hang their goaltender out to dry in tonight’s rematch.

Hot Take Tuesday follows J Pat, where Matt gets salty after a luke warm take.

The show ends as it always does with all the Errors and Omissions.
