Apr 28, 2026: Saying goodbye to Cheech... RIP

It's a show with a different tone today after the passing of former Canucks player and broadcaster John Garrett. Matt and Blake walk down memory lane on the many "Cheech" stories and chronicle an amazing life in hockey. They go over everything from his love his food, to his long tenure in the WHA and the unique storytelling in the broadcast booth.. The guys also welcome in John Shannon to share some of his own stories of knowing Cheech for over 40 years. Shannon gets into the playful, kind nature of Garrett and his beloved following in the hockey community, from fans to players to media. Matt and Blake also take a deep dive into the Whitecaps ownership issues and the latest developments that has fans fearing the loss of the MLS contender. Cam Robinson of Elite Prospects drops in and draws his line in the sand on who should be the next Canucks president and GM, and it's a familiar name. He also goes over the standout performances so far as he watches games firsthand at the U18 World Champs. Cam drills down on the pair of Giants in Ryan Lin and Mathis Preston. Johnny King of the Vancouver Canadians also stops by for a chat on the 19 year old's journey to Vancouver. Then the guys wrap up the show with the rest of the baseball story plus a massive change coming to the CFL as the schedule and playoff format is set for a massive shift for the 2027 season!
